In Germany, children and young people with disabilities often live in parallel worlds outside of normal daily life. People without limitations barely have the chance to interact with those who have disabilities, which further separates these groups of people.
The project Aufsteigen! in Zwingenberg-Rodau counteracts this norm. On the “Sonnenhof” farm, children and young people both with and without disabilities are able to learn and be active together through the platform of therapeutic horse riding, focusing on creating community instead of outsiders.
